Why Noms exists
Good recipes deserve a little home.
Noms keeps your recipes, notes, and kitchen discoveries together, with room for every version to grow.
Our mission
Keep the recipe. Carry the knowledge forward.
We want to give everyday cooking a lasting home. A place where the small discoveries, personal touches, and recipes worth passing on stay together—and keep getting better every time someone cooks them.
How it started
Too many scraps. One missing recipe.
The idea for Noms began with a familiar collection: a flour-dusted notebook, saved messages, and a few recipes that only existed in someone’s memory. The ingredients were there. The little adjustments that made them special were harder to find.
We imagined a recipe book that could hold all of it, without treating a recipe as finished forever. Somewhere to keep the original, try something new, and remember what worked.
Who it’s for
For the way you actually cook.
You don’t need a perfect recipe collection to start. Just something you’d like to make again.
- The everyday cookKeeping weeknight favorites close at hand.
- The curious tinkererTrying a swap, taking notes, and making it their own.
- The family archivistSaving the recipes—and the details—worth passing down.
01 · Capture
Keep the little details.
The useful version of a recipe includes more than a title and ingredient list. Noms keeps instructions, timing, servings, equipment, tags, commentary, and photos together so the knowledge behind the dish stays with it.
02 · Organize
Everything in its place.
A flat pile works until it doesn’t. Collections and subcollections give recipes a place without forcing every cook into the same filing system.
Organize by season, cuisine, person, project, or whatever helps you find your way back.
03 · Evolve
Room to grow.
Every published update becomes part of the recipe’s history. Inspect an earlier snapshot, compare versions, and restore an older version as a new update.
The trusted version remains easy to find, while experiments still have somewhere to go.
04 · Cook
Make it fit your table.
Scale a recipe for the people at the table or around the ingredient you have on hand. Noms adjusts quantities, servings, and timing for the cooking session while leaving the saved recipe intact.
06 · Build on good ideas
A new take, not a blank page.
Public recipes can be forked into private drafts. The new recipe is yours to change, while its connection to the source remains visible.
That is the kind of community Noms is designed for: useful ideas moving between cooks without losing their history.
